Ziegelbein Comments!
Lisa Ziegelbein,
"My
husband's grandfather was Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Ziegelbein, who was born on
07/20/1894. He went by the name Charles, which I guess was the Americanized
version of Karl. He is the son of Carl who is referenced on your website,
although my records show Carl spelled with a 'K'. Go figure. I know it's the
same person! Anyway, his mother was Anna (Deke) Ziegelbein, and he was brother
to Henry, Marie, Alvin, Bertha, John, and Fredrich. As a side note, Karl and
Henry married sisters: Karl married Louise Krause, Henry married Dela Krause.
Karl had five children: Irma Louise
Ziegelbein Gerrish was born 09/16/19 and currently lives in Sedalia, Missouri.
Mildred Anna Ziegelbein Wheeler was born 01/12/27 and currently lives in
Warrensburg, Missouri. Edgar Charles Ziegelbein was born 10/30/30 and died
07/28/85. Edgar had a twin, Elsie Rosina, who died as an infant in January 1931.
The fifth was a stillborn child, and I don't have any information about the
dates of birth/death or sex of the baby.
Edgar married Nancy Knowles 06/14/58,
and together they had three children: Chuck (Raymond Charles), Rick (Richard
Dale), and Pat (Patrick Michael). Nancy died 03/20/92.
Chuck is married to his second wife,
Carla, and they live north of Columbia, Missouri near Hallsville. They have no
children together. However, Chuck and his first wife, Alicia, had three boys:
Zachary, Jared, and Austin.
Rick is married to Lisa (me!), and we
live in Blue Springs, Missouri. We have a son, Derek William, and a daughter,
Alyssa Diane.
Pat is married to Amy, and they live
in Boonville, Missouri. They have one son, Lucas Michael.
And with all that information, it
boils down to one question: if your grandfather and my husband's grandfather
were brothers, what does that make you and Rick? I believe it makes you second
cousins, but I'm not positive. I'm just getting into genealogy, and it's so
wonderful to discover how many Ziegelbein descendants are out there!"
John Fischer,
"Hi, Paul. I've moved due to a job change/transfer. Here's an update to
our e-mail address and city/state information to post on the Ziegelbein website.
Our new e-mail address is:
fischer21@watchtv.net and we live in New Knoxville, Ohio, now, instead of
Byron, Illinois. We're working back at The Way International headquarters where
I'm overseeing the PC-related computer work. (The other side of the IT
department is an IBM AS/400 system. Evelyn works on that system as a
programmer.) I'm attaching a copy of our e-Holiday card so you can see what we
look like these days. Carolyn is a senior in Architecture at the University of
Illinois in Chicago. She plans to work on a Master's degree program after
graduation next May. John III is a PFC in the US Marine Corps, currently
stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. He's in radio/electronics attached to an
artillery unit. He's having a lot of fun learning to drive military Hummers,
shoot howitzers, and work with amphibious landing equipment like hovercrafts. If
there is any other information that needs to be updated for the Web site, please
let me know. Have a great holiday season! John"
Pam Niermann Goebel, "Paul, feel free to use our
information on your website. It'll be fun to keep in touch this way.
Thanks for all your hard work at keeping the information going for our family!"
Joyce Ziegelbein Wood, "I live in Las Vegas,
NV, and my email address is ziggywhat@aol.com.
The family tree info is fantastic!! Very interesting stuff!!! Thanks for sharing
and for all your hard work."
Deb Niermann, " Hi Paul, I have a whole photo album
of pictures that I reproduced from Grandma's pile of old photos. I'll go through
them and tell you what I have, but it's pretty cool. I know I have Lydia as a
teenager in a class photo, and a photo when they were dating. I also reproduced
the wedding photo. It's in black and white and doesn't have the sepia coloring
but the picture is clearer, if you're interested. You can post my email address
on the website. Both sites look great. You've been busy."
Becky Webster, "The
home page looks very nice... This is wonderful meeting more of my family."
Ruth Schwarz Sprengeler, "Wow!
I love this family history stuff!! ... Keep in touch; we'll send you whatever we
can. Better yet, maybe we can meet some day!"
David Niermann, "I
checked out the von Fange website with the newsletters and everything, that is
really something. Do you maintain that one too? It
must be a lot of work. I've talked to others in my family and we are all
appreciative of the Ziegelbein site. If there's anything I can do to help
let me know."
John Fischer,
"Thanks for the info on the Web site you're putting together for the
Ziegelbeins. This looks like a fun project! ... Thanks for doing this!
Beth Niermann, "This website is pretty
fun, I noticed that you have a lot of holes when it comes to family photos. My
sister Debbie did a lot of photo research when grandma was still living and she
has an entire family photo album. I thought you might like to know this
information and see if you can get her to scan them in for you. Blessings on the
endeavor, Your cuz, Beth Niermann"
Kim Portell (girlfriend of Chris
Ziegelbein), "Paul
- I didn't know if you received my message from this weekend about who I was --
I told Wilmer "Wimpy" & Chris about your website & they
sounded very interested in any information you have on the Ziegelbeins -- if you
need any information on the family still living in Concordia I'm sure they would
like to help. Please let me know. Thanks! Kim
